История нашего питомника Panacea Cat началась в году, когда в нашей жизни появился первый кот породы мейн-кун, благодаря желанию нашей дочки. Попав под обаяние нашего куна, мы решили завести еще одну кошку, которая, после переговоров с питомником в Германии, прекрасно преодолев перелет и 4х часовой путь от Москвы до Ярославля, перешагнула порог нашего дома.
И вот, не остановившись на этом, взвесив свои силы, желание и получив специальное фелинологическое образование, мы основали монопородный питомников мейн-кунов Panacea Cat, который находится в Ярославле. Кто такие мейн-куны? Мейн-кун англ. Maine Coon — родом из Штатов.
Естественным образом, от аборигенных кошек, живущих на фермах Северо-Восточной Америки штат Мэн , появилась эта порода с огромным хвостом и густой длинной шерстью, с характерным окрасом и мощным телосложением. Внешне напоминая енотов, эти кошки и снискали себе оригинальное название - от англ.
Отсюда и название породы — буквально «мэнский енот». Мейн-куны - красивые кошки крупных размеров, очень выносливые, с сильно развитой мускулатурой. Они пропорционально сложены, чрезвычайно ловки и грациозны. Доброта и покладистость являются особенностью мейн-куна.
Порода официально появилась в году, когда на выставке в Бостоне и Нью-Йорке был показан первый мейн-кун. Вот уже больше 1,5 века порода держится, основываясь на том, что фермеры всегда отдавали должное их физическим и охотничьим качествам, покладистому характеру.
Одним словом, эти кошки достойны восхищения и уважения, и эту породу можно охарактеризовать двумя словами: мощь и нежность. В наши дни эта порода переживает новый пик популярности.
